“We believe using local vendors, products and venues are important to both our community and the environment. When the three come together, the results are organic and natural, plus we happen to know how to throw a great party!”
STEPHANIE L. Miller, OWNER & LEAD PLANNER
Style and Personality:
Stephanie brings a very relaxed and calming presence with her when
planning an event. Her style is sophisticated
yet earthy, our “Farm-to-Table” gal! She
has taken it a step further and brought it into the world of weddings and
events. It is a running joke that when
Stephanie designs an event, there will be fresh produce incorporated: peaches for escort cards, buckets of autumn
leaves and apples for centerpieces or sprigs of rosemary in the personal
flowers. Whatever is in season and meets
the color scheme, she will use.
My Ideal Event: There
is nothing like a wedding at someone’s childhood home. There are so many memories that are made in a
home, and a wedding is the “icing on the cake.”
Most clients do not realize how their home can be transformed into a
venue, and that is where my skills come in.
Incorporating items from around the home, such as using the family’s
dinner table as the sweetheart table so the newlyweds can have their first meal
together on it makes the day so much more meaningful.
My Favorite Wedding Moment: It is when I am alone with the bride, right after the enthusiastic
bridesmaids are whisked away to line up and before her dad comes to walk her
down the aisle. I get two minutes alone,
just her and I. My bride has so many
emotions running trough her mind:
nerves, anticipation, excitement, and I get to be there to reassure her
that she looks amazing and her day ahead will be perfect. I am the one that gets to tell her to take a
deep breath and enjoy every moment as I pull the blusher over her face, I fix
her train, the doors open and off she goes.
My Life: I am all
about the importance of home and my local community. Don’t get me wrong, an adventure is exciting,
but my heart has been in Fullerton for a long time. It is the little things like shopping for
summer fruit with my two boys at the farmer’s market, helping out in the
community or sharing a bottle of wine and cuddling under a blanket. Oops, almost forgot this
important tidbit: many moons ago my sister pointed out that I have OCD when it
comes to my movie collection. I “unknowingly”
only own movies that are based on weddings.
Maybe I need therapy?
Professional Qualifications: Professional Bridal Consultant designation within the Association of
Bridal Consultants, 14 years of experience within the wedding and event
industry focused mainly on outdoor venues, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative
Advertising from California State University, Fullerton.
AMANDA JOHNSON, LEAD PLANNER
Style and Personality: Amanda is our city girl with a country
heart! Give her cowboy boots, some country music, a horse and she will be
in heaven. A lover of all things rustic, there is something wonderful about
being in nature, seeing its beauty and amplifying it through design. There is a bit of city glam because she
believes that every girl can pull off red lips with the perfect shade.
My Ideal Event: Anywhere under the stars! Think
wooden tables, flea market vases, colored stemware, loose bouquets of
hydrangea, dahlia and ranunculi in shades of cream and red, and then set the
mood by candlelight. There is never too
much candlelight! “One of my favorite
combinations is mixing textures such as wood and antique glass. It
creates a subtle elegance. I love
simplicity!”
My Favorite Wedding Moment: “I now
pronounce you husband and wife!” When
those words are said, there is something
magical about watching two people take their first steps on this new journey
together.
My Life: I
am a huge Angels Baseball fan! I go to any and every game I can. When I am not cheering on my team, you may
find me restoring furniture, riding horses or in the kitchen. I love to decorate cakes (see qualifications
below and you will understand). There is
so much you can do with sugar!
Professional Qualifications: Our resident Pastry Chef, earning a Patisserie & Baking Degree
from Le Cordon Bleu, Pasadena. She is
the one that we RUN to when there is a “caketastrophe” or clients have design
questions. Having wedding industry
experience on the culinary front since 2008, the natural progression was to
step into event planning.
Style and Personality: Phoenix is all about finding
creative ways to keep within budget without compromising her client’s visions. She loves to repurpose items, bargain hunt,
but most of all she is our in-house DIY / Pinterest expert.
My Ideal Event: An
intimate gathering of only the closest family and friends, dancing in the cool
air, barefoot on cobblestone with hundreds of twinkling lights strung
to-and-fro from the treetops, with live music playing.
My Favorite Wedding Moment: There is nothing more special than creating the perfect atmosphere
through a great team of vendors that connect with the couple. Something magical happens on that dance floor
when the right mix of family and friends, talent, ambiance, and of course love
come together. You can feel the
excitement and better yet, see it because everyone is on his or her feet with
huge smiles on their faces.
My Life: My hobbies are summed up in two words, “the
outdoors.” I love being active, which
includes hiking, surfing, camping, running, rock climbing, kayaking, dancing, and
more. There is nothing better than pushing myself and expanding my
abilities. Currently I am learning
Spanish, sign language, and how to play the piano.
Professional Qualifications: Previous
event industry experience includes: lead
wedding planner, assistant event planner, blog/website manager, a non-profit
internship and a background in floral design.
Phoenix holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management, with an emphasis
on events from Texas A&M
University.
Style and Personality: Growing up in Lake Tahoe, Bree has a
true respect for the environment and its natural beauty. The great outdoors is where she became adventurous,
willing to take risks and try new things. It is also probably one of the reasons she is
so comfortable in the spotlight.
My Ideal Event: The backdrop is key for setting the scene. Water is her ideal medium to work with be it the
ocean, a lake, or river, the calming effect adds ambiance and romance. As the
bride and groom exchange their vows in front of a rural boat house that opens
up to the water as the sun falls in the red and orange sky, that would be
perfection.
My Favorite Wedding Moment: Whether it is a string quartet, an
organ or the harp, when you hear the first couple measures of “Here Comes the Bride,”
queuing her to walking down the aisle as the guests rise. Music is very
powerful. It can unveil passion and
emotion, and create an unforgettable moment.
My Life: As was
hinted above, you have probably guessed that Bree is drawn to the stage and
loves singing and writing music. She is
our songbird, always humming along while the music is playing. Even though she is far from her home on the
lake, she has Southern Cali’s outdoor treasures to keep her busy. She loves going to the beach, playing soccer,
snowboarding, snowmobiling, even sky diving, basically anything that gets her
adrenalin going.
Professional Qualifications: With her
musical background plus a Bachelor’s Degree in Entertainment and Tourism from
California State University, Fullerton. Bree gravitated toward special events
within the music industry, including the Grammy’s. She has recently discovered her love for a
more intimate event in weddings.
