My love for stripes has never been a secret, so of course I am naturally drawn to the candy cane during the holidays. I found some fun ways to incorporate the tasty little peppermint cane into this holiday party.
Drink recipe plus a few decor tips and tricks I used below...
DIY: Crushed Peppermint Votives...
I like to experiment! Sometimes my ideas work, sometimes I fail, but I think this one was a success. I had recently done glittered votives, so I decided to try it with crushed candy cane. I bought some inexpensive clear glass votives, lightly brushed them with slightly watered down tacky glue and rolled them in the candy cane. Something a little different and unexpected. You can see the votive in the photo above and I also got a bit adventurous and dipped the corner of the "signature drink" frame at the top. *A little warm water and the glue and mints came right off, so we can reuse everything.
The Christmas tree at McCoy Mills Ford was all jewel toned when I arrived. I kept anything silver and red on the tree, added a few large ornaments along with the candy canes to tie in the rest of the decor.
Fact: Only 10% of your guests will remember the details! What they will remember is the food, so it is always wise to put a good portion of your budget and energy toward creating the menu.
Peppermint Pina Colada:
3 oz. Canned Coconut Milk
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 1/2 oz. White Rum
2 Candy Canes
Fresh Mint for Garnish
Directions: In a shaker, combine coconut milk, pineapple juice and rum with ice. Crush one of the candy canes and place in the glass, then pour the colada mixture into the glass. (This will give the drink the light pink color.) Garnish with fresh mint and a full candy cane.
*This is best made as a batch drink ahead of time with the crushed peppermint melting ahead of time to create the right color.

Great to hear about Table7events Company. That is true that no one can plan an event without help. I also hire event planners whenever I plan for any NY events. They help me in selecting and finding wonderful venues as per my budget. Also, the pictures shared here of holiday party are beautiful.
