Calamigos Ranch, Malibu Weddings, Sam + Samantha | Table7 Events

These two take LOVE to an entirely different level.  Together since childhood and withstanding all of the bumps in the road, some couples are just destined to be together, Sam squared was just meant to be.

How many hours should I hire a DJ, I bet you don't know... | Table7 Events

This may sound like the most useless blog post ever, but bare with me.  You have secured the venue for "Event Time" from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m, and your ceremony starts at 5:00 p.m.  So you hire the DJ for 6 hours, right???  WRONG, FALSE, UNTRUE!!!

This is the most common mistake I run into with DJ's when I send out my agenda.  We are all on the same page when it comes to the ceremony starting at 5:00 p.m., however, when they see that the prelude music (pre ceremony music playing to create the atmosphere for your guest arrival period and to set the tone for your event) is to start 30 minutes prior, at 4:30 p.m., things sometimes take a turn for the worse.  "I was only hired for 6 hours!  You need to call the bride and see what she is going to do about it."  It is you, the client, that usually pays the price.  Literally!!!

There are a few scenarios:
1.  You have a really cool DJ that says, "No Problem, I will be there a little early!"
2.  You get a call from me, via the DJ, requesting an additional fee for 30 minutes of time!
3.  Your DJ will start at 4:30 p.m. and will be done at 10:30 p.m. because you had a 6 hour deal!

Now, which DJ do you want to work with?

I am probably one of the most judgmental planners in Orange County when it comes to a DJ.  Sorry to any DJ reading this!  I am stickler for a professional, with a fantastic personality, they must play nice with others, plus know a little something about pleasing the entire crowd!!!

The answer to the original question:  "How many hours should I hire a DJ?"  "Event Time"plus 30 minutes if you are having the DJ play for the ceremony.  I urge you to discuss the prelude music during your initial interview to see if it is included in your contracted time.  If not, ask that the DJ include it in writing before signing the contract.

I would LOVE to refer you to someone great in the Orange County area.  Please contact me directly at Table7 Events for your referral:  www.table-seven.com

St. Joachim Catholic Church and Leatherby's Cafe Rouge: Costa Mesa Wedding | Table7 Events

Floral Design:  JENNY B FLORAL DESIGN
Entertainment:  JMS MUSIC
DJ:  STERLING PRODUCTIONS
Makeup:  SMOKY EYES ARTISTRY
Guest Accomodations:  WESTIN SOUTH COAST PLAZA

Where do I start with Matt & Juri!  I felt a connection with these two from the start.  Juri and I have similar personalities, we both have military men in our lives, these two are travelers, and major foodies.  We shared an extremely personal connection, my husband has a spinal core injury and Matt is a doctor in the navy that specializes in spinal cord injury pain management.  Sometimes it is just meant to be!!!

One thing I must mention about the reception was that the venue was changed just 18 days prior.  Leatherby's Cafe Rouge was incredible to work with, especially with the added pressure and stress it put on everyone to make this last minute change.

Cheers to my new friends!!!

OH, the Places You'll Go!!!

"You have brains in your head.  You have feet in your shoes.  You can steer yourself any direction you choose.  You're on your own.  And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go."

"You'll look up and down streets.  Look 'em over with care.  About some you will say, 'I don't choose to go there.'  With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you're smart to go down any no-so-good street."

"And you may not find any you'll want to go down.  In that case, of course, you'll head out of town."

"It's opener there in the wide open air."

"Out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you."

"And when things start to happen, don't worry.  Don't stew.  Just go right along.  You'll start happening too."

"OH, THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!"

"You'll be on your way up!  You'll be seeing great sights!
You'll join the high fliers who soar to high heights."

"You won't lag behind, because you'll have the speed.  You'll pass the whole gang and you'll soon take the lead.  Wherever you fly, you'll be best of the best.  Wherever you go,
you will top all the rest."

I have been sworn to secrecy and asked not to mention any football team name nor the league associated with the team, but I was so LUCKy to be part of this amazing wedding.  Wink, Wink, Hint, Hint.  If you don't get the innuendo, ask your fiance!

Over the summer I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to head out to Indiana to assist my business coach, Tonya Shadoan, owner of Circle City Planners, with a wedding.  She explained to me that it was for a football cheerleader, it was at a fantastic venue and we may have the opportunity to go into the stadium for photos.

In the past few years I have learned many things and one of them was to ALWAYS be open to new opportunities.  "And when things start to happen, don't worry.  Don't stew.  Just go right along.  You'll start happening too."

With a few days notice, I jumped on a plane and headed to Indiana.  It seemed like a whirlwind of events in two days, but I just soaked it all in.  I played the role of the assistant and wanted to learn as much as I could, but I don't think I was prepared for the excitement I felt going into Lucas Oil Stadium.

I am not a huge football fan, but my heart started racing when the entire wedding party was led through the corridors as we passed the head coaches office and walked into the locker room.  If I had a grin on my face, I cannot imagine what the groom and his groomsmen were feeling.  All I know is that my husband was extremely jealous of the photos I kept texting him!

Next we went out the tunnel and onto the field.  I did not think my smile could have gotten any wider, but it did.  My toes were in the end zone, then the 50 yard line, I was holding pom poms and lifting trains, my heart could not have gotten any happier.

Back to reality!  Not really!  When we finished at the stadium, we hustled over to make sure that the reception was ready for the guest arrival and walked into this amazingness...

I have so much gratitude for this life experience and all that Tonya Shadoan has taught me this past year!  I am truly thankful and extremely blessed!
