FINALLY! Brianna & Mike were married in February and when I saw the photos, I was so excited to show the world (at least the bloggers of the world) and finally I am.
Brianna really wanted the vintage wedding and was fairly open to locations, but Mike was adamant about no churches, no golf courses, no hotels which left us with banquet halls, restaurants and outdoor venues (in February, yikes). One of the original venues they looked at was the Summit House, but Brianna thought it was out of their budget, so we kept looking. Each time we talked, she would tell me where they went, I would suggest some new locations, but each conversation ended with, "I really love the Summit House," so I knew I had to make it happen.
I went to the Summit House one day and asked the banquet manager what we would have to do to make this a reality and with a little creativity and flexibility on every one's part, we made it work. My favorite part of this wedding was when I called Brianna and told her that I made the Summit House work within her budget. All she said was, "REALLY?"
Brianna chose her color scheme, but wanted a little more non-traditional take on the flowers. Jenny B and I decided to color block the bridesmaids bouquets with different types of flowers for texture. Brianna needed a little more off-beat, so we threw in the polka dot feathers.
The amphitheater style seating at the ceremony location is gorgeous as-is, however; the venue normally sets out folding chairs. When I asked the venue if clients ever forgo the chairs and bring in cushions, I was given a quizzical look, but chose to do it anyway. I thought it turned out beautifully and I hope I start a trend!
Details, details... I cannot take credit for the Jenga sign-in. I have to give that to my BFF, she likes to help search out new ideas for me.
Thank you, Brianna and Mike, for letting me in on the happiest day of your life!
