Richard Nixon Library, Yorba Linda Wedding, Shannon + Andre | Table7 Events

Love was certainly in the air with these two! Shannon and Andre were as sweet as could be, and we were so excited to see this beautiful couple say "I-Do!". They decided to kick the romance factor up a notch by incorporating a beautiful vibrant red into their color scheme. Red roses made their grand debut in the bridal party's boutonnieres and bouquets, including Shannon's (which was absolutely stunning!).

The Richard Nixon Library provided a regal backdrop for this couple's classic and romantic nuptials. Shannon and Andre also happen to be HUGE fans of Disney, so we helped them incorporate their favorite characters in a subtle but fun way. Mickey and Minnie cake toppers brought a sweet and silly element to the decedent dessert, and guests were gifted a tasty Disney themed treat. 

We couldn't be happier for these two and all of the love and laughter that awaits them. Thank you Shannon and Andre for letting us be a part of your magical day!

Autumn is a favorite for many, but my love for this season takes it to another level.  There are so many things to love at this time of year: the change in weather, the scent of spice in the air, the crunch of fallen leaves, but the color palette is what I cannot get enough of.  Crimson, sienna, mustard, and everything in-between, you will find the range of colors in my closet, my kid's closets, my home decor, and now Table7's branding probably makes a lot more sense.

The OC Bride's event (a local wedding vendor networking group I participate with) was hosted at Black Gold Golf Course this month.  Their theme this month was "Fall Harvest!"  My mind immediately went to pumpkins.  My mind always goes to pumpkins!  October is the time for pumpkins, September is a time for apples.

Since my home is full of autumn pieces, it was just a matter of pulling something together and buying a bushel or four of apples.  Here are the results, but I have to thank Create A Party Rentals for the linen and Jacob Austell for the photos.

Each year, I reconnect with my couples on their first anniversary to see what life has brought and it is usually bountiful.  Sometimes a new puppy, other times a new home, but on this occasion I was overjoyed to hear that Brian and Dianna were expecting a bouncing baby bun-in-the-oven.  (I foresee a shower in my immediate future.)

While Dianna was in Italy, she messaged me that she was engaged and the plan was for an autumn wedding.  As soon as their flight landed in New York, she was at the magazine rack loading up on bridal publications for their trip home to California.  I am pretty sure that she had most of her wedding planned on that five-hour flight.  Jet lagged and all, the happy couple started their venue search immediately and came across Black Gold and fell in love with the site.  Being that it was already June, the venue's availability for the fall was slim, but they did have another option, take August 26th and they would receive some amazing incentives (because no one is crazy enough to plan a wedding in three months, right?).  Dianna called me and asked, "Do you think we can pull it off?  My answer, "Absolutely, we will make your dream come true!)  All the while I was thinking, "but you are in for three months of chaos and stress, but I will make it as painless as possible."    I am pretty sure I did just that.

Funny enough, 2010 and 2011 brought a marathon of "We are getting married in 3 months" weddings my way.  Most of which were on the more intimate side, this however, was a full-blown, childhood fantasy, princess for a day, biggest moment of my life wedding, all wrapped up in sparkles and pink.

{TIP}  When planning a wedding with little time, secure the venue(s) and finalize the ceremony time because those are the items needed in order to print your invitations.  Invites are the most time sensitive item when taking into consideration:  printing, addressing/delivery, responses, and the final guest count.  This can take up to three months!

As you may have guessed, Dianna is a lady that likes her pink and a whole lot of sparkle.  She had crystals dripping from the ceremony, down the aisle, rhinestone wrapped around the flowers, and of course on the cake.

One of my hidden talents is cake design.  When a bride comes to me with a bunch of different cake ideas, I can easily put them all together to create her vision.  The bakery can do this as well, but it is just as easy for both the bride and the bakery to have a concrete plan, pre-sketched, of the structure and detail, so everyone can get on with the fun stuff, the tasting.  Below is the cake I designed for the big day.  Oh, I cannot forget the DIY cake riser we created.  It is a super simple and inexpensive way to display your cake and give the appearance of adding an extra layer.

Parisian 50th Birthday Celebration | Table7 Events

Months ago, the hostess and best friend of the birthday girl contacted me about hosting a party for her best friend, but she was unsure which direction she wanted to go with the 50 guests she would be inviting into her home.  The trickiest part when throwing a party for a third person is figuring out what the uninvolved person would prefer.

After a little Q & A, the same words kept reoccurring:  good wine, intimate, fine dining, Paris...  We decided on a Parisian themed event, complete with a food and wine pairing of passed hors d'oeuvres.

It is fantastic when the host and hostess are willing to entrust you with all of the details of the event, not exactly knowing the outcome.  On this occasion, I had an engineer as my host, so he willingly made my visions a reality.  He spliced together strings of market lights to create a glow on the dance floor, I envisioned a a fountain in the pool, and he even lit an Eiffel Tower in the background to bring Paris to Yorba Linda.  (I think I may just hire him!)

Luckily, I have had a few floral design courses in my past so I was able to create lovely centerpieces from my inventory, and save the host and hostess the expense of hiring a florist.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with tray passed champagne, a display of fresh fruit, imported cheeses, baked brie en croute, dried bread, crackers and date rumaki.  If you have never had Alicia's date rumaki, I would hire them just for that bacon wrapped pleasure!

Next up, the whites!  A chardonnay and pinot grigio paired with beet & chive crostini, petite chicken picatta skewers, and spinach & feta empanadas with cilanto yogurt.  The guests were raving and so eager for their next course of red pairings.  The red wines included a blend, pinot noir, and petite sirah, but it was the food that brought out each flavor.  The third course consisted of a gorgonzola stuffed mushrooms, roasted red pepper soup shooters and bleu beef tenderloin canapes with caramelized onions.

After the third course, I heard so many satisfied groans from full bellies, the dessert selection had to be spectacular to continue the indulgence:  chocolate mouse shooters, red velvet and lemon pound petite cupcakes, cheesecake tarts with fresh berries, a beautiful butter cake with white chocolate shavings for the birthday girl and a coffee bar complete with chocolate whipped cream.  Since this WAS a wine party, we had to offer a dessert wine.  The Cocoa Vino was a huge success!  If I hadn't been "on the clock" I would of had a little taste myself.

In keeping with the theme of the party and art being part of the French culture, we added a blank canvas as a keepsake for the birthday girl.  The guests were invited to bring out their inner artist and paint their message...

This Parisian themed party has been my favorite of 2012, thus far.  I have to thank the wonderful vendors I brought together to make this evening successful.  Alicia's has never let me down and exceeded the host and hostesses expectations and Vendome Liquor completed our event with the selection of pairings.   Vendome went above and beyond to accommodate the budget and quality desired which is a feat in itself.
